Shingles - vaccination

Shingles, also known as herpes zoster or zoster, is a painful skin rash caused by the varicella-zoster virus (VZV), the same virus responsible for chickenpox. After recovering from chickenpox, the virus remains in the body and can reactivate years later, causing shingles. The shingles vaccine helps protect against this condition and is recommended for all adults aged 50 years and older. The vaccination requires two doses for full protection.
