Shingles - vaccination

Shingles (herpes zoster) is a painful rash caused by the varicella-zoster virus, the same virus that causes chickenpox. After chickenpox, the virus remains dormant in the body and may reactivate years later, causing shingles. The shingles vaccine helps reduce the risk of shingles and complications such as long-lasting nerve pain.
