Hepatitis A - vaccination
Hepatitis A is a highly infectious virus that can cause inflammation of the liver. The virus is transmitted through ingesting contaminated food and water or by direct contact with an infectious person. Someone with hepatitis A is most infectious from around 2 weeks before symptoms appear until about a week after symptoms first develop. The vaccine (age of 1 years and older). protects individual for one year. Only one dose required for immunity; ideally 2 weeks before departure, but can be given up to one day before departure. Then a booster at 6-12 months will provide immunity for up to 25 years in adults, and 14-20 years in children. £80 per dose
