Hayfever Treatment

Hay fever, also known as allergic rhinitis, is an allergic reaction that occurs when the immune system overreacts to allergens present in the air. Common triggers include pollen, house dust mites, mould spores, and pet dander. Symptoms include sneezing, a runny or stuffy nose, itchy or watery eyes, an itchy throat or ears, coughing, and fatigue. In this consultation, you will be offered appropriate symptom relief and treatment for hay fever or hives. Depending on the symptoms, a pharmacist will be able to prescribe one of the following medicines: for ages 6 years and older, Rhinolast or Beconase; or for ages 12 years and older, Nasonex or Fexofenadine 180 mg. Prices for medicines are not included in the consultation fee. Please ask the pharmacist for more details on prescription prices.
